It is the
statue of a theatrical role, the one of Amelie Van Beneden that the observer
once examining closer will realize it is a statue of a man dressed up like an
old woman. The role of Amelie Van Beneden was quite popular in the city of Brussels
and this is the reason why it was decided to create the particular statue in
order to emphasize the locals’ sense of humor. The statue, located in Rue du
Midi 111 (1000 Brussels), is a creation of the artist Tom Frantzen.
